Software Architect/Engineer for the Academy of Applied Science
Dates
- March 1996 through July 1997
Duties
I was in charge of designing and implementing a large scale communications package which the Academy of Applied Science planned to deploy to several hundred high schools. This communications package was a pure Java application which seamlessly integrated diverse communications protocols such as email (SMTP), newsgroups (NNTP), irc, talk, and zephyr (instant messaging) among others. For more information on the Global School District, please refer to http://www.globalschooldistrict.org/.I played a large role in the conceptual design of this communications package and I personally wrote over 95% of the code that had gone into the production of the Global School District by the end of my full time involvement.
