Description
A Web Developer's Guide to Search Engines was a book that I
co-authored with Wes Sonnenreich for Wiley Publishing. The book covers
the history of search engines, how search engines work, how to
set up a search engine on your own web site, and how to write your
own search engine. In addition to co-authoring the book, I also wrote
all of the accompanying software. The accompanying software includes
a search engine
(written entirely in Java) which contains a spider and
a customized web server. The Java based search engine took me about
half a week to develop.
