Stupid Web Tricks
Welcome visitor number . This is my collection of stupid web tricks I've thrown together. Unlike most collections of web tricks these have no real use (at least none that I know of), but if you really want to use them on your web page you have my permission (as long as you follow the directions for doing so when there are directions).
- Age Detector - My age detector takes the personal information that you entered into your browser and compares it against a government database. It can be used to determine whether or not you are above a required age and grant you access to websites that contain mature material only if you are above the appropriate age. Websites all over the world are using my age detector and I encourage you to do the same since it is free. The age detector applet was written by me (Tim Macinta) and is copyright 1996 and 1997.
- Protest Everything! - Prove to the world that you are the most socially conscientious person ever by protesting everything at once.
- Infinite Frames - Warning: Viewing the "Infinite Frames" page for an extended period of time will make your browser very unhappy. If you don't want to risk having your browser crash, don't view this page.
Upon viewing the "Infinite Frames" page your web browser will wait four seconds and then split the page into four separate frames. Then your browser will wait another four seconds and three of the four frames will split themselves into four frames each. This will continue indefinitely producing a pretty display of frames.
To view this page you will need a browser that properly supports JavaScript. I tested this with Netscape Navigator 3 and 4 (it worked in both of them) and in IE 3. It did not work in IE 3, so if you're using IE you should use Netscape Navigator instead - it is a much better browser.
- My Live Counter - I know I'm not the first person to do this, but all the other ones I've seen have been animated GIFs. This one is in Java, and because it's not a fixed image it is completely random and more flexible than the more common animated GIFs.
